We are a stationery maker that plans and develops original products in Japan.

We are also a design company that works with clients on product development and others.

Our mission is to spread ideas from Japan by tapping on your knee.

- The Japanese name for Japan is Nippon (pronounced Knee-pon).Also, the sound 'pon' can represent a tapping sound in the Japanese language.

Moreover, when Japanese people are surpised or impresed by something, they say it taps them on the knee.Therefore, we devised the name knee-pon to represent our jaw-dropping creations emanating from Japan.

Atsushi Matsuoka

Born in 1978 in Japan.

Graduated from Kwansei Gakuin University, Faculty of Sociology, and began working as a freelance writer while still a student.

In 2004, he founded the film screening organization "Cinegimmick" and served as its representative until 2006.

In 2010, he founded the stationery maker and design company "HI MOJIMOJI". With the mission of "Kneepon From Nippon!

He has won Good Design Awards (2012, 2016) for "Deng On," a message memo that stands on a keyboard, and "TAGGED MEMO PAD," a memo pad made of wash-resistant paper that does not tear even when wet.

Currently, "WORKERS'BOX," which organizes documents by project, is a hit with a total of over 150,000 copies sold.

Part-time lecturer at Ochanomizu College of Art since 2014 (-2020).

Name designer (registered trademark) responding to naming requests since 2020.

Also active as DJ Atsushi of "Quest FM," a radio station that creates things, from the same year 2020.

He will publish his first book, "ZIWA ZIWA Stationery," in 2022.
